Shield bug egg hatch

Spotted some shield bug eggs on the underside of a holly leaf. I then photographed their development over the next few weeks until they dispersed after their first moult into 2nd instar nymphs. Turned out to be Hawthorne shield bugs.

that's amazing Brian and beautifully documented
Fascinating transformation.
What did they do day 14 to 17? Just hang about there?
Food? Did they help themselves? Suppose they're completely on their own

Richard- yes they just stayed in the same spot as they hatched. The egg cases did disappear.

Toby - yes it was Campyloneura virgula - I thought it was going to eat all the eggs but obviously not so.
