If you own DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, Gigapixel AI bundle you can download the beta right now. Just follow this link (external link) and make sure to claim a Photo AI license by going to your account. Looks very, very promising. And supposedly final version will be free to those who own the bundle.

The new tool works okay I guess, but in my opinion the individual parts are still not as useful as the specialized tools, DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI and Gigapixel AI.
I’m sure the new Photo AI will soon be a replacement for all three of these. Why else would Topaz give away a brand new tool for free to customers that have the existing tools?
Topaz is using existing customers as testers, while they bring the new tool up to speed. At some point only Photo AI will remain.
And that is all fine I think, as long as the results from Photo AI are satisfactory.

That is exactly what Topaz says on their site. The 3 individual apps are better but Topaz's intent is to replace them with a version of Photo AI that is just as good. I'm impressed so far but I have not put it through a tough noise test yet.

AI photo is”OK” but not reliable in my experience when compared to the standalone apps.

For instance Photo AI almost never decides that sharpening is necessary. Sure you can turn sharpening on but my understanding is that the Photo AI is suppose to analyze the photo and decide what needs enhancement.

Also most times after saving the image back to Lightroom the app crashes right away. Ugh.

They have been updating a lot and it’s a nice concept but they have a way to go.

I have heard many people complain about crashes when returning to Lightroom. I have yet to have it happen to me.

Me neither. Not once. This AI stuff takes a lot of VRAM to work properly.

Ouch :-)

I feel your pain though.. there is nothing more annoying than software that fails. (especially if it your own software that fails... ..when a customer uses it -? )

Hopefully topaz will sort things out soon. They seem to have a pretty fast release rate at the moment.

V 1.0.6 just came out. That is 2 updates in two weeks. Working the bugs out. I thought 1.0.5 was faster and this version fixed some memory leaks. What computer and hardware?

You can set up sensitivity in the preferences. If it doesn't kick in it's just one button. I'm ticked at LrC 12. They are done with the "Done" button. Now I have to press the Masking button twice to get out of cropping, healing and red eye. :-) It's actually a far more convenient location.

Many years ago I tried or Sharpen on my old iMac. It was very slow and had all types of artifacts. On the Topaz forums someone suggested to crop the RAW file to 50% before sending it Sharpen. It worked. I had an older system but one thing stood out is I did have not enough VRAM. I made sure my new iMac had a lot of VRAM for future AI apps. Of course they make improvements so the software is more efficient as the go.

Yes. It is really annoying. I automatically move the mouse to the Close button which is no longer in the corner, but just a text button inside the masking panel. Also, I keep clicking the new Adjustment icon which the new first icon in the row, where it used to be rotate/crop icon.

I know I will get used to it, but right now it is annoying :-)

This works too if you are in crop or healing and want avoid cycling through the masks.
