Hello All!
I design and build custom inground swimming pools. We are going to be photographing our completed and just wanted to see if anyone has recommendations for a lens. Not looking to break the bank. We would be shooting in various space, some being very tight other are wide open.

Thank you in advance!

Sorry, thought that would show up in my signature. Canon 6D.

Tamron 35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD would work for most.

A 24-70 zoom would probably be wide enough but to be sure, EF 16-35 f4 IS L is great, but would that 'break the bank" ?
It's cheaper predecessor is the 17-40 f4 L.

Whats your final output media? Online? Brochures/Catalogs? Pictures to hang on a wall in the office? How much post processing do you wan to do? They all have impacts. The 17-40 is a very nice wide angle especially for the price but it does suffer quite a bit of distortion at the wide end. Need some post processing to get straight lines and such. Most wide angle lenses will be like that some worse than others. If you don't need wider than 24mm, the Canon 24-105 is a very versatile lens and would probably work quite well. For a bit more and a bit higher quality, the 24-70. Another option, depending on what your final product is, is to move to one of the 1" sensor P/S cameras, something like the PowerShot G7 X. Great for online stuff, much more portable, and about the cost of a lens.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

From our signature, it appears you already own the Tamron 35-150mm lens, so you would probably want something for a wider angle. You mention "not wanting to break the bank", so the Canon 17-40mm f/4 L would be a lower cost option. If you want something a little better, the Canon 16-35mm f/4 IS L would be a good choice. I have owned both lenses -- the 16-35 was the better lens, but the 17-40 was no slouch for the money. Just depends on your budget.

I don't think, I would be able to fit in the entire pool at 35mm.

I remember mine 17-40 as lens with soft corners.
I use 16-35 2.8 MKII for wide indoors, outdoors and it is better. True L.

16-35 2.5 MKII just as any used EF L is not expensive these days.
