Congratulations to the winners and kudos to Nic for an excellent challenge. Excellent entries all.

Metal detecting was a fun hobby when I was stationed in Wyoming in the mid ‘70’s. A few more of my finds. :-)

Congrats to Don and Martin! Some good looking figures this week. Good theme, too, Nic.

Really interesting! I've often been tempted to buy a detector. Old French and English military artifacts turn up around here, too.

Reminds me, too, of the TV series (originally BBC) The Detectorists. Stars Toby Jones and it is hilarious. On several streaming services nowadays. IMDB blurb: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4082744/ (external link)

Nice! Would imagine there's still a lot of good finds to be detected around Denmark.

If I got one, I’d soon have the world’s finest collection of old bottle tops and other rubbish :p

From the Vejle museum :

They had a lump of metal you could lift to feel the weight of the find. Impressive.

You do have to sort through a lot of metal trash to find the occasional treasure. :p
