Sports Portraits

Not entirely sure where to post these, but would appreciate some feedback on these portraits. This was the first time working with strobes. Thanks!!

I'm not entirely certain I'm your person to offer technique feedback, so let me share my though on the visual aspect.

I like the backroad lighting in pic #1 better than pic #2 - not a real fan of the black background surrounding his upper body.

I'm sorted of ok with the lighting directions on pic #1, but do not like the "hot spots" on her forehead and left cheek. In my opinion you could lighten her eyes in port processing a little bit as well, and possible soften her skin or reduce the sharpness a tad.

The emotion in #2 is great, maybe add a little back lighting to separate his head/hair from the background.

For sure I'm not an expert, just offering my .02.
