I had a gt 1030 and cs6 would did work with the card but it lagged terribly so. I mean I would paint and had to wait up to ten seconds for it to finish.

Thanks all - appreciate. Bob_A - that screenshot is in my first post. I can use the card for display but not processing or exporting (where it is really needed). Thanks.

I realize you provided a screenshot. Just requesting others to do the same when they say their card works to help you (the OP). :-)

A 2gb card isn't beefy enough for LRC. I started using LRC about 3 years ago with just the built-in graphics processor. I got a 2gb card to get some minimal functionality, like shift/drag-to-zoom. I bought the cheapest one I could find that met the specs. And drag-to-zoom barely worked. So yeah, it met the specs, but I don't think I saw any benefit at all from that card. Did no harm, but didn't help.

Bought a 6gb card on Craigslist and now I have full functionality. Helps with the new AI stuff too. The price bubble on graphics cards has burst, so you can find them for reasonable prices now.

The folks who replied here all have >2gb cards.

One thing we didn’t ask the OP was how old his pc was. Maybe his CPU is older than Skylake?

My system is fairly old. I've attached the system info. Lightroom is maybe too taxing on this system?

Your system meets the minimum requirement of a Skylake CPU, and you’re running Win 10.

I notice you have 24GB RAM installed, which works, but it’s my understanding that you lose the dual channel function. LR might run better with two matched 8GB RAM sticks running dual channel than using 3 x 8GB sticks (or an 8 plus 16) for 24GB.

If you added a third stick you could try pulling it out to see it that’s what is holding you back (making sure the 2 that are left are in the correct slots).

Maybe one of the computer gurus here can confirm.

It's 2 memory cards - an 8 and a 16. Maybe I can pull the 8 and see if that changes anything?

I don't think that will help since a single stick still runs single channel. You need two (or four) matched sticks to get dual channel performance.

That being said, this is just a possibility, not necessarlily the real solution.
