Yes Rob, Stiga mowers are made in Sweden and they just go on and on. An old one of mine which I rolled into a bed of nettles 10 years ago is still going strong!

 That's some prodigious mowing! Sure beats my machine. I just had to replace my walk-behind B&D mower last week after only 5 years of infrequent-as-possible use. Couldn't even finish the last mows of summer.

Are you kidding me. You are wrong friend. I had to scrub the sink for a good 20 minutes to make every tiny micro bit of dirt and oil wash away. Then I had to position desk top lamps over the sink and use cut up cardboard cereal boxes for reflectors. My phone is completely automatic. I had to take like 40 images. Hoping that one of them would focus at the right time while being hand held. Na na. I think, in general, first prize comes to the one who spends the least amount of effort.

It was more the winning creating the work I was thinking of - the prize is that you have to mount the next challenge and remember to close it and count the votes to choose the next winner.

Good luck in the new one!

It doesn't work that way. In the fixed-lens challenge, as in real life, intense effort won't necessarily yield whatever reward the worker was aiming for. First prize comes to the one who gets the most votes. We vote on the images we see, not on unknowns we can't guess. How were the voters to know about your sink, your phone, your improvised reflectors? Do you know the backstories for the photos the rest of us submitted? Of course not.

What NixEre said, that second place is most advantageous, is a cliché around here. The first runner-up gets recognition and doesn't have to run the next week's competition.

Yeah. It was a personal statement mixed in with a general statement about real life. How is this forum not real life? User's here take pictures of real life events all the time. Doesn't make it any less real life when posting on these forums. Unlike some users that boast they're very good at beating dungeons in world of warcraft.
