Hello everyone -

I am selling my Canon EOS 1DX Mark III.

Release cycles show <40000.

The camera is in mint condition.

Why am I selling? I bought it last February and really wanted to get back into Bird photography to complement my birding hobby. You can see my user history with a few pictures I took before, way back a long time ago.

Basically I would like something that is a simpler camera for me to use, and one that is lighter. My shoulder and neck are seemingly permanently damaged from playing bass guitar and holding the camera isn't easy anymore for me.

I'm putting this post up without pictures, as I've wanted to list the camera for 6 months or so and just felt like I needed to get the ad up.

I would really prefer a local sale, but I will ship the camera.

Camera Model: Canon 1DX Mark III

Approximate age of Body: 2.5 years old

Body Condition: Mint - I cannot find a mark or nick on it. It looks brand new.

Number of Shutter actuations: <40000 from the menu

Sale Includes: Original box, 2 batteries, dual battery charger

Price: $3,500 OBO

Payments Accepted: Paypal, Zelle, Cash in person. Sale or agreed upon sale price net to me please.

Possible Trades: EOS R5 maybe, EOS R3 ?

Shipping Methods Available (Ships From): Ships from Irvine, CA area. Will meet anyone up to 30 minutes away no problem.

Shipping Available To: USA

Item location: Irvine area, Socal

Best Contact Method: PM me here please, then we can email, talk, or text whichever you prefer.

Feedback: I've been here 17 years. No feedback here. But check motobrett902 on ebay, solid 100% positive feedback.

Reason for selling: I'm old and I need a camera that is simpler. I was a Nikon shooter and switching to this Canon might have been too much for me and the time I'm able to invest in getting a decent picture to accompany my birding lists that I submit to ebird.

Photos: I will add them shortly.

Helmet155.....I have had the 1Dx3 before....and got another here about 6months ago.
I also have the R3....and I'll share a comment responding to your for-sale post.

I've owned all the 1Dx series bodies, as well as the 7D2, 6D group, played with the R5.....and others.

The main point to sending this note....is your statement of "being old and want something "simpler". Well, the R3 is NOT simpler!!

Now I will admit that to each their own....and in that, we all have different concepts of "how to setup a camera". I fully understand all the
great functions and great capabilities that the R3 has.....but to me...it is the most polluted, uncontrollable camera I've ever used.

I hate that 200 blue dots keep jumping all over the view finder when I'm attempting to "focus" on my subject!
I hate that there "has" to be almost 25 different "functions" on the view screen that are consistently active!
And while I eliminated (moved/hid) most of them, many keep popping up even when I didn't ask for them.
I found it impossible to create the same order my 1Dx3 had with only 5 functions on the screen....yet I found it impossible to replicate.
The camera consistently floods the view finder with information, functions I don't need and the most common results from it all....it drains the battery faster.

Truly, the R6 would be a better consideration for you. Yes, you'll need to work on the menu system "some what"....but nothing like the R3.
I used my R6 mostly for wildlife and a little for motorsports. It did really well. Yet you have the option for a "grip" if you like the functionality of one...it works really well on the R6.

Good Luck on your progress for a newer body.....would like to know what you end up with....!

Rod
