I will soon be purchasing either a Canon R6 or R7 Canon. Looking for recommendations on Secure Digital cards for those cameras. Will the V60 cards work fine or do you need to move to V90 for the camera to work at full effectiveness?

Canon 7D 2, Canon 6D 2. 111, Canon 24-105 4L IS, Canon 70-200 2.8 IS II, Canon 100-400 II, Canon 28-135, Canon 17-40 4L.

Go to https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4662315 (external link) and specifically the 3rd entry from the top where someone quotes a response from Canon Tech support. It hinges more or less on just how much video you intend to do. If you are into video, then lean toward the faster card. If not, the slower card will likely be adequate.

Having said that, at times I’ve seen brand name V90’s on sale at less than a V60 for comparable capacity. One word of caution, do not buy off Amazon, buy from B&H, Adorama or Best Buy. That will lessen the chance of getting a counterfeit card.

I'm using a Sony A9ii for sports and wildlife and use V60 cards and have not hit the buffer but I don't machine gun it or use the video.
