taken with the Telescope Live 4" Takahashi FSQ106 at the Spain Observatory with a FLI PL9000 camera using about 15 hours of exposures. This consists of images taken with the following filters Halpha, Oiii and Sii. Processed mapping the HSO to RGB colors
I processed this in Pixinsight and finished in Lightroom

Jeff I have to say that I really like it. But I also have to add that there is too much much red overall for my taste. Crazy to say that as I have struggled to pull in enough red “forever “:-)

Good work as usual!

As a kid I was fascinated the first time I saw a picture of the Horsehead nebula. It was a large picture in Adler Planetarium I think taken with with the Hale telescope. Looked something like THIS (external link). As a teen I bought a 4" reflector and tried my hardest to find it but never did. It wasn't until years later i saw it in relation to the Orion nebula and realized how tiny it is in relations. I was looking at it all the time, just didn't have enough mirror. Very nice image of one of my favorite DSOs.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

I agree with you, I need to tone down the red.

Good work. I like the wider images of this area, especially those that show the surrounding dust.
I did the same area earlier this week, but had to do it in a 2 panel mosaic shot to fit it in. Eventually I need to do another few shots to fill in the area a bit more. Plus a few more hours would be nice, but I don't think I'll get to 15 :-)
