Canon 24-105 error 01 problems

Good afternoon.

I have two Canon 24-105 lenses and for some reason both are giving me the error 01 whenever I mount them onto the camera (5d Mk3)

I have cleaned the contacts but still have the same problem. I have no issues with my other lenses.

I have tried the lenses on my other camera, 5d Mk2 and I get the same error 01.


Any reasons why this is happening?

i seem to remember something about a cable failure being a common issue, so maybe time to send one or both off for repair?

When my 24-105 gave an error 01 I had to send it in for repair. Diaphragm was gone, was called a common problem for this lens. Repair costed me about $120 three years ago.

Hi. Have already sent one of them off and had the cable repaired this year.

The other was bought to replace the first one while it was being repaired.

It just seems strange that both of them have the same issue at the same time.
