I really like shooting instant film, but the cameras available on the mass market are woeful in their maximum aperture and ability to manually expose an image.
After some search, I found an instax back that has been modified to replace the back panel on a Rolleiflex camera. There are some simple adjustments needed to the height of the focusing screen but it's only a 2 minute job and switching back and forth between 120 film and the instax back is quick and easy.
I need to rate the 800 ISO film as ISO400 when used with the Rolleiflex, but I'm able to shoot wide open at f/3.5 which is brilliant for a shallow DOF given the size of instax film.
These images are first light - it was bright and contrasty, not generally the best conditions for instant film given the limited dynamic range. I scanned these on my flatbed scanner which has really softened the images, but they are actually very sharp in person. Overall I'm really pleased and can't wait to get stuck into some portraits of the kids on the weekend.
Zluxtech, the maker of these backs, does a good job with the 3d printed parts - if you have an old film camera lying around it's a fun experiment.
