Just bought an R3 and love it. Sold my 5D IV and 6D and have some EF L lenses for sale. In order to fund new RF lenses, EF need to be sold.

I was going to keep the 1D X but now think I will sell ALL EF L lenses so will not have lenses for the 1D X.

I have posted that the camera has been intermittent. Sometimes will not turn on. BUT and a big but, I can always get it to turn on and now for the last few weeks it has not stumbled. I DO NOT think it is the DC board, but if it is have a place in San Diego that will repair that for $262 including return freight. I changed the time batter, cleaned main battery terminals, checked micro switches and now working as expected. I think it was dirty battery terminal. I cannot be sure, though and being very honest here.

Camera reports less than 9,000 clicks. Looks like new. Takes amazing images. I love the sensor.

I have the box as new and all that came with it. Will include 2 bar battery, charger, of course and 12V Car charging adapter for the LC-E4N and 2 16GB lexar CF cards.

IF it fails to start I will send it for DC board, but I think it might just be fine now. I do try to change batteries, cards, lenses and turn on several times a day and no failures since I cleaned. But...

So, with all that in mind, is there interest? I do not even know how to price so maybe PM me with interest?

A few pics below. More available.

Thanks.

As I said, I was looking to see if there were interest and offers in PM's. It is a Testing the Waters, not a classiffieds post.

Since then I cannot get the camera to fail to start. My best guess is theat the internal battery contacts needed cleaning, got it and now reliable. So now I am totally confused on what to do. If I sell it I wil have only one body and I'm starting to build a collection of RF lenses for that. So ideally, I'd want to sell it and at least two EF lenses - 24-70 and 70-200 and then put that towards another RF lens. Later on an R6 for a backup body?

I have had several offers of $700. I think its worth more, or better put, worth more to me. I think that if I sold the 1D X and both lenses and netted 3K I would be motivated to to make the next step in moving to mirrorless. If not, I'd be using this for backup. And as much as the EF lenses work fabulously with the mirrorless and adaptor, I'm working toward never having to think about adapter or not when changing lenses.

Sorry for any and all confusion. It really was if the camera is intermittent, what value would you all place on it. Has morphed a bit.

Does Canon still service the vs1?

This may be your main issue.

You didn't mention which version your lenses are, but if the latest then you want a 1000 for each piece which I think is reasonable. Your problem is the body, which I and others think is worth 700 as a possibly faulty body. I only paid 680 for my 1dx which qas faultless at 100,000 plus clicks. Good luck either way.

Sorry can't reply but every 24 hours.

Sure its Classifieds, but also where people Test the Waters without posting a price. I started this assuming the camera had an ongoing issue and trying to find out a value for it if it remained intermittent and I would sell with with batteries, chargers, car charger, box, L bracket etc. all which add value. Or I might have decided to send it for repair then offer it for sale but likely not a great move for me financially. And then the unexpected happened where I cannot get it to fail again, perhaps changing the landscape on sale or keep. And in the midst of this, sold two other bodies so this now might become my only backup.

So things change.

So sorry if anyone was bothered by it. Its not the first I have seen here like it and it can provide helpful information for me as well as others who might be thinking of selling theirs. You also have the ability to ignore the thread.

I'll wait a day then likely close it.

I try very hard to attack the premise and not the person. You, sir, force me to break that rule.

First, this was not an AUCTION. It was a posting to try to ascertain the value of this camera as is or repaired and decide what price to put on it or to keep it.

Arguable whether this is the right forum for that. But management always has (had) the right and the ability to move the post, close it, admonish me or otherwise intervine. They did not.

It must be wonderful to have the luxury of time to troll forums, cut and paste rules and judge others for their motives and practices. But frankly, your opinion is not worth the pixels they are written in. I cannot concieve of what motivates you to play trafffic cop here? Its beyond me. But please troll someone else. I'm sure the forum owners will reach out and let me know if they desire me to act or post differently. But you have driven me, after MANY years being here with vauable discourse, useful information and buy and sell experiences, to find out if a user can be blocked.

I shall close this post now and hopefully not run into you again...
