This is interesting....

Digital cameras from the early 2000s are becoming must-have gadgets for many young people because of a burgeoning trend online.

Search traffic for old kit on online marketplaces like eBay and Etsy is on the rise.

And in the past 12 months, videos with the hashtag #digitalcamera have amassed more than 220 million views on TikTok.

Analysts describe the trend as being linked to similar revivals of turn of the century fashion.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I recall my old Kodak DC 210+ needed very specific software and a RS232 serial cable to download photos to my old Packard Bell machine. I suspect this might be a retro step too far for the people referred to in the article.

This might make me dig it out again, though

Kinda old news, but it is bbc, takes time.

Another trend bbc will report in 2024 is outgoing interest in DSLRs among young ones.

Saw that article this morning... "vintage digital camera". Holy smokes I feel old.

Camera, some lenses, too little time, too little talent
