I took some milky way photos with my 90D over the weekend, and when I was reviewing them I noticed that they looked funny. When I zoomed in on the Jpeg I noted the stars were split into three colors Red, Green, and Blue. I took shots with the same lens using the 80D and did not have the problem. When I open the RAW file of the same photo I don't see the problem. I am shooting RAW + Small Jpeg. Does anyone know what the issue is? See the RAW and Jpeg cropped photos below.

Same issue in both, just different amount. Do you have some kind of lens abberation compensation active? Since you seem not to use a Canon lens here, that may be part of the issue. The fundamental issue is probably that the lens isn't very good.

That would be my guess too, you have a feature turned on, like ALO or something like that, which would only affect the jpg.

The best results will likely come from processing the raw and generating the jpg instead of in camera jpg, realistically.
