Be careful what you wish for. The auto industry is flirting with Ala carte sales of feature via subscription. Want heated seats? Pay a yearly fee. Imagine canon doing something similar, throttling fos, or disabling IS if you don't pay an additional recrr8ng fee?

It's already being done, Toyota has been doing a subscription basis on some of their vehicles with "remote start" feature. Navigation also is on subscription basis, but who pays for it if you can use your phone?

We all let it happen starting from the CD to MP3, then streaming music. We used to be able to pay and own things, but no more, little by little over the years, we have relinquished ownership for recurring fees.

We will be leasing just about everything we live on in the future and the days of paying once and using indefinitely will be over.

It's the New World Order agenda AKA Agenda 2030, I don't know what they renamed it to now... where " you will own nothing" and "you will be happy ", as Klaus Schwab said. They are now even implementing the 15 minute cities. But this is not the topic of this thread so I'll stop.

Thank you KF095 for the DP link. I went over the various cameras and to my eye the R6 held it's own or surpassed most of the other cameras. Low light capability is important as I don't want to carry a tripod except on certain shoots. With my 1Ds mkii I was restricted to about ISO 800, even then it was dodgy as to quality.

The IBIS is only available on certain cameras and certain RF lenses as I understand. That would certainly be a help with low light as well. The kind of information that all of you have given me will definitely help with my decision. The DP site was a great help and answered more of my questions. Thank you again.

Hello everyone,
I can't thank you enough for all your help, ideas, suggestions and recommendations. With all the cameras available I needed some help from many of you that have gone through a similar process. I need to check out which cameras have the IBIS as a possible adjunct to or instead of going with a high ISO to increase my shutter speed.
All of you have been more than generous with your knowledge and I am very grateful. Thank you again.

I think by now you know the answer... I was in the same quandary and I chose to pre-order the R8. Then I considered the absence of IBIS and the fact that my go-to lens is the EF 24-70 f2.8 MkII (yes I will use my old lenses with an adapter), I changed my mind. The EF 24-70 hardly gave me any trouble in my non-IBIS EOS 60D and EOS 5DMkIII, but I am not getting any younger either.

So, I cancelled my R8 pre-order and got a R6 MkII and I couldn't be happier!
