We had a days celebration in my home city of Waterford to commerate the first flying
of our national flag 175 years ago by Thomas Francis Meagher before he was deported by the British.

Our Taoiseach was in attendance at the commeration but on his way to lunch after the events
he bumped into a group of American tourists & he gave them a brief history of the flag & he showed
them the building from where it first flew.

I can't think of too many countries where you get a brief history from the premier of the country!
I would like to think that they enjoyed the experience!
