Mantidae are so very cool!

Fun fact, one would think that they die off due to cold temperatures, but actually the fall period almost coincides with their body clocks within a couple of months or so, at least some species.

As kids, we did an experiment with these (with the species in these parts) and kept them in a climate controlled aquarium. At some point they stop eating and just fall apart, legs fall off, etc and they expire all on their own. Other species may live much longer...

Nice shot, now I wish I knew what happened to the poor bee.

"Man only has 5 senses, and sometimes not even that, so if they define the world, the universe, the dimensions of existence, and spirituality with just these limited senses, their view of what-is and what-can-be is very myopic indeed and they are doomed, now and forever."

thank you, and thanks for the fun fact! I watched for awhile, but the Mantis didn't make a move, he wasn't hungry. I read that they may only eat every other day. thanks again.
