Second post in this forum. My granddaughter - so I'm prejudice. Would like some outsider opinions. Was playing with my lighting but only had a few minutes to setup.
Thanks in advance.

Probably would have been better if her eyes were paralell to the frame not at an angle. 5D, Drebel, EOS-3, K1000

llaamaboy wrote: Agree with Hellashot: Little cool (shadow light is), espically the white clothes. Top of head is a little low. I disagree eye angle - I love the angle the head. From my position (Just starting Scott Kelby's book) you are advanced with PS type enhancements. You have given it an over all "large neg quality" look which is very good. The only comment about that is about the eye white - there is something different about them. I love the lighting and Im not sure if the cheek color is PS or natural, but it all works very well. Your sharpening on the hair is excellent. Now with all of that said the sum total of all of this is one priceless image of an adorable little girl. The general "impact" of the image is a hugh success which is made stonger with small cropping from the top. I bet mom just loves the image and its really easy to see why. Excellent Thanks for taking the time. I appreciate it. BTW, didn't do anything to her cheek color. Very little levels, some USM, and minor blemish removal on her upper lip. Maybe a little contrast too. Bob

Mar 30, 2006 20:04 | #8 Hey thanks everyone. I'm a little perplexed on the cool comments. Do you mean the color temperature is too cool on the Kelvin scale? It looks great on my Mac and even warmer on my PC at work. In other words the whites apear white versus blue. Are we talking the same thing? Bob

I shot the main light through a diffuser panel with the strobe close to the diffuser so it would be on the harsh side. Had a fill light which really didn't do a lot so it must be a pretty high ratio. I only get a couple shots off before she gets bored. But I'm interested if it looks "cool" to you because I'm not seeing it. Bob

It gives it an innocence and freshness feel. I don't think warm lighting would have looked as good with the white shirt and her skin tones. ~ Jeff
