I have run into situations where an image is desired, but going to be a nightmare to recover. I saw an F Stoppers YouTube video about this program, and I've tried it out, using it for some of my otherwise unusable images to see what I'll get.

Attached is the same image, dark, no flash with me due to being around horses all day. First is SOOC jpg image, 2nd is processed using Impossible Things as a plug in for LRC. Useful, but meant for people only, although I used it for a horse portrait this morning to give a client a "lightened version", which she wound up not liking as much as the original I sent her.

That is pretty good.

Is that something you could NOT have done with masking tools and levels? If the shot was in RAW there should be plenty of headroom from picking up contours.

The AI uses the available tools in LRC itself to get the job done.

For me, these dark images have been an issue and so I welcomed the help. Plus I can look at the settings post edit, and see what incan do in the future.

They front you 500 free edits, then it's 0.6 cents per edit afterwards, so this seems to be aimed at wedding and event photography.

Interesting business model. Clearly targeted to those in the business rather than individuals. Just curious, when you submit a image for adjustment, do you also see what was changed? It's unclear in the review I read. I suppose you can guess as in your image, but would be interesting to know.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

They sure don't give it away.

Impossible Things is available as part of a subscription that has four tiers: free, $40, $50, and $100 per month. Each option that scales with needs and desired number of “edit credits.” For example, the lowest $40 a month tier offers 500 edit credits while the “Pro” $100 per month tier allows 2,500 edits.

Is there a way to mask areas where you may not want the shadows or dark parts lifted as much? It seemed to do a good job on you and your friend as well as everything that's in close proximity to you. But the night sky looks a bit overdone with noise and black streaks on the right side.

Yes, the edits are not hidden, all the edits appear in my sliders as if I had done them myself. The only thing you have to do is confirm the changes, for PC it's "Cont+Alt +U". I can go to the masking section and see which ones are there. If a mask is not engaged I can delete it and even delete active masks as well.

It does not, AFAIK allow you to select sections to edit.

As for money, so far I've used maybe 30 of the 500 credited edits, and have had no fees.

I'm a wedding photographer and I do about 2-3/month average. This program has saved me countless hours the past few months I've been using it so for me it's worth the pro-subscription which works out to about .04 cents per edit. I'm able to use my own presets and let the AI do it's thing. It gets my images about 85% of the way there. There are always some anomalies but when I'm processing 1000+ images from a wedding (after culling) it is a life saver. Plus the credits roll over each month, so when I'm in my busy season this Fall I should have enough built up to cover all of my weddings at that time as well.

Wife has been using Luminar Neo for a while now - tried it out this weekend and all I can say is "game changer" the AI for people / Portraits etc is mind blowing.
