1987! I had hard time recognizing this as glacier Grey. Those icebergs! One poster in the park mentioned the glacier is receding at a speed about 100 meters per year. Here is a view from Mirador near Refugio Grey: Nikon D850, D500, Nikon 17-55, 16-35, 24-120, 85 f1.4, 105 f2.5 DC, Tamron 24-70, 70-200, 150-600

Glacier Perito Moreno supposedly is the only one still growing: Nikon D850, D500, Nikon 17-55, 16-35, 24-120, 85 f1.4, 105 f2.5 DC, Tamron 24-70, 70-200, 150-600

Good to learn. I remembered I saw it somewhere when I visited the glacier last month, maybe they meant the only one in south America/Patagonia area. Nikon D850, D500, Nikon 17-55, 16-35, 24-120, 85 f1.4, 105 f2.5 DC, Tamron 24-70, 70-200, 150-600

I remembered I saw it somewhere when I visited the glacier last month, maybe they meant the only one in south America/Patagonia area. It is some relief to learn that there are some glaciers that are growing rather than receding. OTOH, it is really worrisome to hear that ice in Antarctica is breaking off...the Brunt Ice Shelf break off occurred on January 22, 2023, and produced a new iceberg with an area of 1550 square kilometers (about 600 square miles) You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost!
