MetaRaw is a great plugin to allow opening of newer camera RAW format files in older Adobe Camera Raw versions.
It's allowed me to continue using Photoshop CS6 with the 5D Mk IV as if I'd updated the Adobe software.
It typically costs US $49.95, but is offered at a reduced price from time to time.
Here's a functional overview of the plugin.
I purchased it at someone's suggestion a few years back, and have not regretted it one bit.
Opening a file from Bridge sends it straight to ACR, with all adjustments available,
which can then natively send it straight to PS. It's completely seamless.
