Any particular reason for wanting genuine Canon brand, as opposed to aftermarket brand? I have found that the capacity of the aftermarket LP-E6 are often higher capacity than the Canon LP-E6N.
And why a used battery?...lithium ion battery begins to deplete its capacity from the day the battery is manufactured.

There are some horror stories from people who used aftermarket brands and ruined their cameras, which drove me to get a genuine brand.
Could you please recommend an aftermarket brand that you trust? Thank you very much for the info, Wilt!!

The horror stories are true but happen with cheap knock-off products. There are several reputable after market battery suppliers out there though and their batteries are every but as good as OEM at a fraction of the price. For LP-E6N Sterlingtek makes a very good product. Amazon has them at $14 USD

Thank you gjl711! I used Sterlingtek many moons ago back in the Canon 40D days.

Many folks, including me, have used and trusted Sterlingtek or Wasabi in Canon dSLRs for over a decade.

I tried Wasabi as well but they didn't last that long. I'll go with Sterlingtek again. Thanks again Wilt!

The issue may not be the brand, but that the retailer had them on their shelf for a while before it shipped out to a retail customer.
As I stated (and battery manufacturers support this) lithium batteries begin to diminsh their capacity once the battery is manufactured! It is one reason why I never purchased Bose headphones...you had to buy the lithium batteries from Bose at a premium price after the batteries lost enough capacity to need replacement, rather than taking AAA battery from any store.

I have been using Wasabi for years. Never had an issue. They lasted about as long as Canon batteries. I only have one Canon battery and several Wasabi and Sterling.
