This is just 3 pics from this year's crop of foxes at my fave spot in Nova Scotia. The same fox family has their kits here every year at the same location, and have done so for at least the past 17 years. The way it works is that once the current year's kits are grown up enough, they are told by their parents to leave the area and go build a new home. Then, one of this year's kits stays behind, and inherits the dens at this location. The parents both leave the area, and the young one that inherited this area stays on, and assumes "ownership", and becomes the property's Mom or Dad Manager fox for the following year. It's an annual event. Here's just a few of this year's kits.

Here's our local backyard fox. He seldom is seen in daylight though. Lots of shots of him on game cam and security cams. But yesterday he decided to walk the edge of the woods in broad daylight. He didn't stay long after I ran and grabbed the camera and ran back on deck to get his picture. Nothing to really brag about outside of the fact of actually catching him long enough to get a photo.

Very cool, thanks for adding that. The vixen at “my den” is very elusive. She will not even slow down when she sees me, which is ok with me as she’ll stay safer that way.

I have seen this one make this same path twice in daylight, but both times was inside when I saw it. But this time I was quick enough in getting the camera out and carefully sneaking out on the deck and grabbing 4 shots very quickly. It was about 100 yards away and quickly saw me and paused for just a second and popped back in the woods. It sometimes gets close to the house at night though. Thanks for looking.
