I have an R3 that I set up to generally shoot sports indoors/outdoors at 20fps, full RAW, electronic shutter to a CFExpress card. I'll rip off 50shots at a time but never really filling the buffer.

I've noticed that over time, while shooting, the camera heats up around the handle where the card is, and around the lens attachment, to the point where it feels warmer than it should. I've attributed it the camera vigorously writing to the card, but want to check and see if anyone else has noticed this about their R3 and whether it is expected?

It gets warm, yes.
As long as you can hold it, no problem.
