Not sure what this is being caused by, but it seems excessive. The lens was bought new when the mk II first came out. It still takes images fine and focuses find, although not as fast as the RF 100-400 on my R7 and R6.

any ideas?

Good images and good focus. So its not a lens group or a USM motor.

Is the IS working 100% Could that be a loose gyro?

if you remove the lens from the camera without turning camera off it happens with that lens and others -- it's normal
