So my oldest son was home for Father's Day and he was showing me how AI can generate different photos. Started with something simple like typing in "beach sunset" and a number of photos were generated, all were capable of being PP. Then added the term "with dog" and even more photos. Pretty impressive (and scary) as they looked good (on a cell phone) but none were real. Seems like a real disrupter for stock photography for sure.

Some pretty good discussions an AI photography here

I have been playing with the tools included in PS and I have to say, even for traditional post processing it's a game changer. I have been using it to restore old family photos, a process that was very time consuming. It has shortened the process to just a few minutes.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

I used it the other day; I did a self-portrait for my work profile pic and needed a little more headroom, and used Generative Fill. It was something simple to add background it was pretty useful.

I was thinking it was both pretty cool as well as kind of sad...

I suppose where on the photography spectrum you fall. For those trying to earn some $$ this probably wont be a good thing. For those that do this for the enjoyment of image creation, it's a wonderful tool.

Yes, exactly. I do feel badly for those photographers whom might see a reduction in their livelihood.

Seems like a real disrupter for stock photography for sure.

There will need to be a lawsuit soon because the current view of the US copyright office is that these images don't qualify for copyright protection.... makes selling them as stock harder (but not impossible).
