Digital Speed Challenge #764: It Floats!

Anything goes - as long as something featured in the pic is / can be / might be floating somewhere, somehow.


This challenge begins when posted and ends at midnight GMT on 3 July 2023. Winner of this challenge will be announced shortly thereafter.

The Challenge Rules:

1. Camera: Any DIGITAL CAMERA is allowed, not just DSLR.
2. Time: Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size: Please visit Image Posting Rules.
4. Post Processing: Do whatever you like, and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting: ONE PHOTO per photographer per challenge. List camera model & lens used. Post brief EXIF data: ISO, shutter speed and aperture.
6. Commenting: No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7. Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.
8. Have questions, PM me.
9. Have lots of FUN!

OldCrow - A pretty fly looking fly. Do you tie your own? I've tried a few but most I caught with mine were my fingers. Takes more hand-eye skill than I have.

Dilorenzo - Sweet shot! I've noticed around here the Mallard duckling numbers are way down this year. Don't know if its flu, the gulls or something else.

InPhoto - Very appealing effect. Like the colours, textures and point of view.

Just Whistle - Nicely done, too. Love the doggo posing for the shot with his life preserver. He's enjoying that peaceful float.

TerryPink - Great pic. Thought it was a photo of Skaði at first! Thst looks like old snow - in the mountains?


Hard choice, but my pick of the week is InPhoto's very attractive Lake Boat.

i remember buying some flies when i was really young thinking that i could use them with a regular bait casting reel and a 50s era steel rod. nope lol...

i like Just Whistle's kayak with the doggo. well done.

In's boat picture is very idyllic. great capture.

Terry's floating cloud is very original! its something different that i wouldnt have thought of...

Thanks Rob. I used to tie back in my younger days. Even caught a few bass and trout on them too. But now I haven't wet a line in 15 years.
