New to photography had an amazing opportunity to take these photo, looking for constructive feedback. Using a Sony DSC-HX400v

The first is an excellent portrait. They are both very clear and sharp. well thought out background. Good photographs.

I love the 2 images , and look forward to seeing more in the future ..... the first image looks very slightly over processed - the 2nd is my preferred image from the pair - shows the movement of mouse and the thought of the action needed in catching the animal -
The background out of focus really shows off the bird and isolates very well , very sharp showing feather details

I wonder if the white can be slightly more exposed , of if it will blow out and be overexposed

I wonder what a slightly wider aperture , F5.6 may have done to the DOF
