I am looking at this printer pretty hard and it currently has a $200 rebate. My other consideration is the Canon Pro300 but I'm really leaning toward the Epson. Any thoughts anyone would share?
For reference, I have a friend who runs a Canon Pro200 that steered me toward the Epson due to problems he has had with his Canon.

I never had good luck with Epson printers, lots of clogging problems. My Canon printers don't clog and I live in a very dry desert climate. I have a Canon Pro 10 13" pigment printer and it works great, print a nozzle check every couple of days and the printer will waste less ink. Here is a good youtuber for printer tips. https://www.youtube.com/@cheo1949/videos (external link)

If you run it regularly, the clogging is less of an issue. The Epsons I've had have clogged due to long idle intervals. No amount of cleaning resolved the issues so another was bought to replace it.

I haven't run my SureColor 600 in a spell because everything remains as a digital deliverable. I'd make prints for a hard portfolio but these days few even want to see actual prints. :-(

If you buy an Epson photo printer and do not use it very often, get a service plan from Epson and *not* from a 3rd party. During the pandemic I didn't print anything on my Epson and when I went to use it barely any ink came out. I ran several cleaning cycles and nothing helped so I threw it away. I think it was a P900 but definitely a PXXX series. I talked to Epson about this and they said the *Epson* Service Plans cover this. Their service plans cover the printer for one year but you can buy multiple service plans up-front and string them together serially. Epson also told me that there's lots of 3rd party service plans you can buy which may not cover nozzle jams.

When the printer was working the prints were great.
