Appropriate in this hemisphere, anyway. Show us how you or someone else is beating the heat. If the heat is winning, will also accept those images. Or if you can't beat it, join it? Open to your imaginations and overheated cameras.
(I left my 90D in the sun for about 10 mins last week and I got a message on the back screen telling it couldn't operate because of the internal temp. First time I'd seen that one.)

This challenge begins when posted and ends at midnight GMT on 14 August 2023. The winner will be announced shortly thereafter.

The Challenge Rules:

1. Camera: Any DIGITAL CAMERA is allowed.
2. Time: Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size: Please visit Image Posting Rules.
4. Post Processing: Do whatever you like, and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting: ONE PHOTO per photographer per challenge. List camera model & lens used. Post brief EXIF data: ISO, shutter speed and aperture.
6. Commenting: No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7. Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.
8. Have questions, PM me.
9. Have lots of FUN!

>> THE WINNER ALWAYS SETS THE THEME FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE, POSTS IT AND JUDGES IT - BE PREPARED

These are all cool shots! The heat is on me now to pick a winner.

LtDave - Great way to beat the heat; nice "frozen" action.

Dilorenzo - That looks like fun. Nice POV. Also like that person behind beating the sunburn.

InPhoto - The colour of the water calls to me!. And skinny-dippers? Nice.

OldCrow - Great frozen moment here, too! Love the expression on his face and his body language; he intends to catch some of that and take it home. Nice shapes in the water, too.

TerryPink - More frozen water and great blues. He and you caught this wave just at the right moment. Definitely a cool shot.

Always hard to pick, but I can't pass OldCrow's without some extra smiling. Take it away, Don, to # 771. Congrats to all others.

Thanks for playing.

Congratulations to Don!

A very good competition!

The sea was great with a lovely sand bottom!
