Good day to all. I wanted to ask the brain trust what brand is the best for replacing my original battery in my EOS-1 MKIV? I have looked at eBay but I'm very little luck.

Thank you,

Lynn

I’ve had very good luck with Wasabi batteries. I just went to their site and they are available for around $39

Can you use the Canon charger to charge them or do you use the Wasabi charger?

Thank you

It should work with the original Canon charger, but I assume you can't charge it with the LP-E19 charger.

If you're going to get a new charger, consider going for the LP-E19 instead. $20 more but nearly 20% more capacity.

There used to be two major brands, the previously mentioned Wasabi and Sterlingtek (STK), which seems to have disappeared from the marketplace.

Whatever, you buy, and the Wasabi is a good recommendation, I suggest you purchase direclty from the importer, not Amazon. This will ensure you get relatively fresh and genuine stock. Alternatives would be B&H or Adorama, but stay away from Amazon for something like batteries and memory cards.
