Hello All,
I recently purchased the Olympus EE-1 Dot Sight and took it out to a favorite marsh area for a trial. Results were a bit mixed, partly because not a lot was going on, but the highlight (Pun intended)
occurred when this Great Egret did a flyby! It happened so fast that I took some photos with eye stuck to viewfinder, and some actually using the Dot Sight. Of course, I have no idea which technique
I was using when this particular image was taken. With a bit of practice though, I think I'm really going to like the sight for bird work!!!! Anyone have any experience with this or similar sights???

Nice capture, regardless of what sighting method was used.
I did try the Olympus Dot Sight using my Canon 100-500mm lens, at the 400/500 end and had mixed results.
I had several shots where I knew that I had the BIF in the frame, but what I could not see was that it was OOF, as the AF had failed to lock onto the bird. I haven't experimented any more, but I am now a little cautious and probably would not use it where I had to guarantee AF lock on, which can only be done via the Camera VF.
Now if the Dot Sight could electrically connect to the camera and display the AF status, that would be nice.
I set up the system by mounting the camera/lens on a tripod and adjusting the X-Y wheels to remove any parallax effects at the approx. range I was shooting at.
What I did like was that the Red Dot was more than bright enough, even for a sunny day.
