Late next year I might go to Bolivia. Is it possible to photograph Condors anywhere near La Paz or Lake Tititaca?

Has anyone got any experience trying to do this?

Hey, Dave

Looks like you have quite a challenge ahead of you. . Or at least a lot of fun research to do!

Question - are you going to Bolivia just for Condor photography? . Or are you going to Bolivia for other things, and just hoping to add Condor photography as a side venture?

I have no experience with this species and have never been to South America. . But I've done a bit of research on this because your post interested me. . Here are some links and info I came across that you may find interesting and possibly even helpful.

Valle de los Condores

One of the best experiences of nature discovery in the heart of Bolivian Andes. The Valley of Condors is a new destination for birdwatching which offers well organized tours of 1-4 days to meet condors in their natural habitat observing them from the top of the precipices from which they fly. These tours are also a privileged moment to meet the farmers and people of southern Bolivia, like the mountain guides, the women who cook for you and the owners of the farm hotel where you'll sleep on the first night. The Valley of the Condors is one of the most important colonies of Andean Condors in the world. It's an excellent choice for the traveler who wants to discover new natural settings, far away of the beaten paths, and for travelers who are looking for an authentic, human and well organized South American adventure. Take the plunge! You will go through steep paths where you will feel the condor brushing past you, discovering breathtaking landscapes and smiling people.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Thanks for that.
I am still thinking about it rather than definetly going.
If I go I want to go to the Amazon and near La Paz - very definite climates.

Thanks for the info about Samaipata - I might go there but it is a long way from the Amazon and La Paz so I would rather not if I can avoid it.
