It's good of you to say so. The way a board is moderated, however, can outweigh its virtues, and even one bad moderator can earn the place a failing grade.

In American English, the b---h word also means "complain" (somewhat vulgarly) and is a perfectly respectable word for a female dog. Censorship by software sometimes makes trouble for discussions on web forums about care of dogs, dog breeding, and so forth.

I can well remember the probls in the now-defuct PhotoCamel Birds forum when members posted bluetits, greattits and long-tailedtits

When I tried to post this I found on that POTN has the same problem so I had to alter bird name spellings!

This is just a microcosm of the narrow-mindedness of the minority in Britain who by lying and deceiving dragged us out of Europe. Insularity at its worst and we are all paying the price for it now.

I know politics is a no-no\nd here but is something I would not have posted if POTN was not closing down! But I could not stay silent any longer in the light of what POTNers have experienced on TP. Insularity, at its worst just abandon them and go somewhere else

my aunt in Aberdeen would have used much stronger language!

in other news, it has been quite sunny & windy today & I have gotten a load of washing done (plus a haircut that was overdue)

I'm considering borrowing Joaynes' avatar for my profile on TP - if only to see if they can connect the dots.

Please convey to the moderator the "three wanker rule" If one person calls me a wanker, I'll shrug it off. If two people call me a wanker, I'll think about what I might be doing. But if three people call me a wanker, I'm definately acting as a wanker. Please tell Cobra he's exceeded three people calling him a wanker.

Can I just say that, as a Brit with a particularly well practised potty mouth, I'm deeply touched that American members are familiar both with the "Wayne Kerr" rule, and the word itself.

It would be hard to miss. :-P

I read your comment, Stephen. That was really nice. A pity things went south all of a sudden. I still don’t quite understand what happened. A shame too because TP is one of very few forums with a dedicated and, based on my own experience, active bird forum.

Closing down the site means we all get banned…

I reckon that, just before he closes down the site, Pekka should ban every member. Given the number of users on POTN there may be a chance for the world record of the most people banned from a site in one day

as a member of both here and talk photography, i can see both sides of the issues, personally i think its sad that you colonials never stayed a bit longer but understand why you left, there are some fantastic images on here with such a range and i spend hours just going round them.

as for wankers, i never knock wanking, its the only exercise i get nowadays

peace and love

Do you mean colonials in the sense of people from POTN? Or colonials as in people from the United states?
If the latter, the people involved in the disagreement are mainly from Europe. This site is operated from Finland. People there made so many wrong assumptions.

Oh dear, after all that difficulty you encountered in attaching images to a post on TP, you managed to overcome it with a great bird image. Then a snake goes and spoils you fun

Apparently, you and some others were there to cause mischief and take over parts of the roll of TP.
