Hey all. It's been years, but I'd like to get back into landscape photography, particularly waterfalls.

I have a Sigma 10-20mm 1:3.5 DC HSM lens (82mm front thread) on a Canon EOS 650D

I'm looking for a bit of a refresher in Neutral density filters and circular polarisers.

What's changed in the last 10 years? Can anyone link me to some basic filters to fit my lens to get me started please?

Cheers,

BAZ.

P.S.
I just read about the forum shutting down soon. Very sad. I loved it here.

I would be reluctant to buy a polarizer for a 10-20mm lens. Beyond an 82mm polarize being quite pricy, in general polarizing filters are generally not used on wide-angle lenses because they're dependent on the angle of the sun and some unusual effects are often seen in the way the sky is rendered. That being said there are times that effect might be what you want.

For waterfalls, that dreamy effect you often see is due to long exposure times so very dark ND filters are desirable. They are generally less in cost than a polarizer which has two pieces of high quality glass.
