This was taken with the wide angle on a different evening. I shot this in JPEG only, minimal PP. CC please. I tried others with flash pointed at the tree but did little.

Good shot although I like your first one better.
Sunsets are fun to shoot because they can change dramatically so quickly.

Really liked this pic.

Had a play to try to bring out a bit more from the trees/clouds.
I'm sure it would turn out better on the full sized image.

Ran it through my velvia script (settings 3/5/19)
Sharpened slightly with usm.
Boosted contrast a bit through usm.
Framed it.

thanks for the comments.

mickle, I like what you have done, the framer adds so much, what a neat tool. I have also tweaked the contrast and boosted color, but returned to more of what I saw standing there, the colors were subdued, it was the cloud shapes that drew me to this image, I have a sepia, textured version that is donw-right creepy. It was a very interesting sunset this night because the wind was blowing pretty hard overhead about the level of those lower clouds, they were moving out of frame in as little as 90 seconds.

I'd actually would darken the trees so they are only ilhouettes and increase the red and yellow to make the shot warmer.

Thanks all. Like I said in my other post, I must get past what was there and see what can or should be there. This photography thing is more like drawing/painting than I ever thought.
