Just got my AB800 in the other day so I figured I would give it a go. Shot with my 300D and 50mm 1.8.

first image I don't like the pose, the second is much better. I find the purple bra strap distracting.

In the 1st photo the lighting on her face is way too harsh washing awy much of the details. The color is off might be a little to red. The 2nd shot itlooks over sharpen and the color push too far as well.

Love the second shot, and the purple straps are cute/sexy.

On the first shot lighting some bright areas are too bright and are blown out.
Second image, lighting is much more uniform, but the shadows are very harsh and they distort the face a bit.

Agree with all of the above. What settings, configuration did you use for shot number one?

Ditto....on the above. The first shot does nothing for me, but I do like the pose on the second shot, except for the purple straps. Very distracting. Nice second shot.

I'll have to agree as well, the second shot is lovely. Only problem is where the hand is cut off right at the wrist- this is a problem. Congrats on the new equipment.
