does anyone know how i would send a couple of pics through email, such as hotmail, without getting the size to be big? Like if i send a bunch of pics and the email size is only like 8k, i've seen it done before and i was wondering how they did it

The first thing you want to do is resize the original photo so that it's not too big. Make a copy of the original and then crop the copy down to something like 800 x 600 or smaller.

Then, save the resized file in JPG format using a lot of compression. With photoshop, use the Medium (5) compression setting.

If the file size is still too big, you'll have to resize it even smaller.

If you have several pictures to send out all at once, break them up into several emails with only a picture or two attached.
