Hi all

Firstly, Thanks for the new forum.

Here are a few shots of a Purple Swamphen. It was walking around on the lillypads and kept sinking. When it got a bit low it would fly to a new spot and start sinking all over again. It was great to watch.

Photos taken with 350D and Bigma

1. This is a good spot to sit.

I like the last one. Cool looking bird, don't think I've ever seen one before..

Nice series of shots, too bad the sun is in the wrong place. The last one worked out best.

I agree with others. The last one is my favorite. The direction of the sun was not ideal but i would take that shot in a heart beat. Beautiful bird.
Were you standing in the water handholding bigma when taking these shots?

I, too, prefer the last one, which is a very nice shot IMHO. The others seem a bit too contrasty due to the position of the sun, which I think detracts from them by making it harder to focus on the hen. Nothing you can do about that, though!

Thanks for the comments. The sun really was in a bad spot.
I was lying on the bank with my tripod set low for these shots.

Thanks dancinec and exerda for the comments.

I am going to go back to this spot and try again in the early hours of the day to see if i can get some better pics that dont have the harsh midday sun.

Ill post them up when i get them.
