Went out last Saturday to shoot birds. Saw this little tree frog meditating on a twig, didn't seem to be bothered. I never let any model who is willing to pose go unnoticed :D. So, click....click.
C/C welcome.

Fee, that is awesome. At first I wondered how you got the shot at 1/20, but then I saw the spider web coming from his rearend and realized he has been there a while.;) Ha-ha, j/k.

Thanks Turnerzdad. Stack a set of extension tubes on your Bigma and you can get shot like this too. :)

Thanks Becca. I'm glad (s)he has some yellow spots on the body. Otherwise the whole picture has some "green" cast. :D

Thanks Julie. The frog reminds me of Yoda meditating.:)

LOL! I should have used long exposure since (s)he was so cooperative. You are right about the spider web. God knows how long (s)he has been meditating there.
Thanks Mike.

You seem to have disturbed his sleep, what amazes me is the way they fold their limbs in a perfect position so nothing is sticking out of the body,if i try that i`ll probably fall apart.

Thanks for the comment Dimitri. I would need surgery to twist my bones in order to fold my legs like that.

Here's a couple of mins playing in photoshop. The background has some banding but that wouldn't be a problem with the original, esp if it's raw.

Here's what I did:

Noise ninja pass, the frog was masked out for this.
Autolevels
Slight adjustment with the curve tool to darken the background a bit and bring the mid-tones up.
Duplicated the layer, set the blend mode to Soft Light, 16px gaussian blur, opacity set to 55% (this adds a very gentle glow to the light).
A gentle pass of USM on the original layer.
