You missed these to:
EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6

Those are not EF lenses.

EF-S is the half-brother to the EF lens.

My film camera will take any EF lens, and it will not take any EF-S lens.

Damn.... and I thought I was done buying.

I read on another thread here earlier today that someone thought that Canon didn't offer enough lenses to choose from. This looks to be pretty comprehensive.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

???

That's positively funny.... One of THE reasons to use the EOS system is that Canon has more lenses in the line up THAN ANY OTHER SYSTEM... EVER!

If Canon does not have enough lenses in the line-up.. than no one does or ever has :)

Freddie:

Here's a thread with a lot of information on lenses, including a survey of the most popular zoom lenses.

That was great. I copied and pasted it in an email to myself so that I can read it later.

I always thought I'd start out with the 85mm lens for my 10D. Then I was shocked at the price and at the time didn't think I wanted to spend that much being I had just bought the 10D back then. I've since grown accustom to the prices of lenses. I really do need an overall good 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens. Even though I'm just a serious amateur I am very curious about the new 70-300mm DO IS USM lens. I found this Thread very interesting!

Doesn't Canon also make an EF 28-200mm f3.5-5.6, as well?
I don't think it too popular vs. the 3rd parties but it's a lens....

Are there any after-market lens (Sigma...) that are reccomended? Any that are really bad? Or are the Canon lenses just that much better?

The thread(s) are manufacturer-agnostic. They're what people here use and recommend.
