Hey all,

I took these photos at a local small lake. These birds walk right up to you and have almost no fear. Shots taken with 350d and Sigma 50-500 (Bigma)

Larger versions are available at my gallery. (see sig)

Hope you enjoy.

1. Swimming for shore.

3. Stopped mid way to a scratch. Not sure what it was but something made him freeze. It was quite funny.

Any CC or PP tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for looking
Marty

Thanks Kawwauser.

The ones at this lake are often fed by people and as such have very little fear. I was lying on the ground for these and as long as i didn't move much they were more then happy to walk right near me.

My biggest problem was that with the 50-500mm on i couldnt focus very close so when they got close i just had to sit and wait for them to move away.

maybe i need to buy a second body and macro lens

.... or (after looking in the wallet) maybe not

Nice shots, I do love those big feet!
