I will be in Seattle next week. Does anybody have any suggestions on great locations or camera stores in Seattle? I will be staying in the downtown area.

Thanks,
Rich

ha ha.. I love Seattle.. let's see.. in the week I was there I went to Pikes Market.. a little crowded later in the day but the street performers were awesome..Highland Park, for the cityscape shot with the space needle. there's also a couple of gardens that were within a couple of blocks... the waterfront by the Freemont Bridge, for the sailboats, My favorite thing was the Underground Tour. (but bring your flash).. Downtown area in general was beautiful, I didn't care for the 'china town' too much.. it was a little rundown.. If I were to skip anything and I know this sounds nuts but going to the top of the Space Needle was a waste of time. although the stores around it were fun for the souvenier stuff.. there zoo is really great... what else?? The beach for sunsets was really fun for us...have a really great time it's a wonderful city... sorry I don't know about the camera stores though... I wasn't shopping when I was there..

okay.. now you got me remembering.. have some links...

my personal favorite.. I did it once with my aunt because nobody else wanted to go, when my cousin saw my photos she dragged me back the next day and then turned around and bought the books on the history of Seattle.. It's a really neat experience and I plan on going back this summer

flowers... and all manner of handmade and imported goodies..on the second level there's a place that sells gyros and the best lemonade in the world.. and across the street three stores down from the original starbucks is an incredible bakery..

my little niece loved this.. we went by there everyday.. this is also a few blocks away from the waterfront where all the houseboats and sailboats are at... and the freemont bridge lifts up every few minutes to let boats go past

the zoo is atleast a four hour event, but it is incredibly beautiful...

Thanks!
The underground tour looks neat! I will skip the space needle, did it 10 years back, not very exciting. I am sure I will be at the brewery next to the market at some point (the trip is for a brewing conference and I must sample the local ales:)). I will make a point to wander around the market.

Something about Seattle, there is a lot there. If you ever should be in Bremerton, WA. It is a ferry ride away. If you time it correctly and leave Bremerton just as it is begining to get dark. You will ride part way in the light of the sun and round a corner in the Puget Sound . Then you will see SEATTLE WA. The lights of Seattle from the Puget Sound is a sight to experience. Seattle seems small, then the lights GROW. At the end of the ride your, in the lights!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. Made it to the underground and market. Didn't have time to get away on a ferry. I will have to plan for a few more days next time.

I picked an omnibounce at Galzers, I had breakfast at the market all week. I could gain a few pounds eating at the market every day! Worked it off walking most of the city till all hours. The Undergroud Tour was agreat history lesson. I will try to post a few more pics when I get a chance to spend a few days at home (hasn't happened in a month or so). I am traveling with my 20d, lots of pics to sort through when I het home.
