Hey,

Very basic amateur here, would you mind having a CC of my cactus shot. It was quite late, at sun-set and at moon-rise (that's supposed to be the moon in the BG!). The light was difficult to say the least!

Anyway, on with the photo:

How can i improve it?

I would stand closer, use some fill flash, and put the moon in the upper right of the frame. But that's just me.

It's a small thing, but the power lines in the lower part of the photo bother me.

I would also try a non-centered composition.

The light is nice, but it lacks a wow factor. Maybe next time be closer to the cactus so it really dominates the scene. Also, were you using a tripod? It's hard to tell on the terrible screen I'm using right now.

I love sunset shots. Keep shooting. This is a good effort.

Thanks!

It's hard to get close to it as there's a 6' brick wall seperating me and the cactus, it's in someones back yard! Also, it isnt yet cropped, I tried a few crops the other night but hadnt settled on one just yet! And I fiddled with the lighting a bit, but Im limited without PS.

Thanks a lot, will have a crack at some more shots of it, maybe earlier in the evening and try and get closer to it... even if it means sitting on the wall and leaning precariously over the edge! ;)
