I've been looking at these photos since they were first posted, and couldn't figure out what I was looking at. Duh. Light dawned just now - amazing. I vote for Number 2 also.

I have seen my share of gators peering from the surface, butter never quite in this manner. I think that 2nd shot is a winner! Gret focus, the eyes, and reflection are all superb! Very nicly done!
