#1 looks like the white balance is a little off. The snow isn't white enough -- and the lighting is such that I can't really tell what time of day it is. I'm also not a huge fan of the composition. I'm not sure what I should be looking at.

#2 is my favorite of the four. Nice color and nice lines.

#3 I might crop a little tighter. The patio I could probably live with, but the chair is distracting to me. It also looks like it's slightly overexposed -- there seem to be some hot spots on the wings and the flowers directly underneath.

#4 also needs a little tighter crop to me. I'd try to cut out the pots on the right side. I might also try to fix the black spot on the lower right leaf.

Hope this helps --

Something like this, maybe? Or is this too much contrast for snow? Did the crop ruin your intended affect?

problem with the s500 is that its quite horrible in the snow and this was a known problem shortly after I bought it after reading reviews from other users over the winter of 2004. Maybe the white balance was off in the shot. I'll never know but no snow in any winter pic I ever took with the s500 looked very white. In fact, winter images with any trace of snow in them looked bad. I'd elaborate but I dont know the correct terms.
