Is there a particular plugin you experts suggest using for sky placement in a photo which orignally had a blown out sky, or was cloudless? If I have a picture of a beautiful sky and wish to incorporate it into another photo of mine, is there a plugin you sugguest using besides typical ps tools i've used (not so successfully) the lasso tool? I want the cleanest, most seemless integration of a sky--is there a professional tool?

Thanks!

Over the years I have made a collection of images that are suitable for backgrounds, including hundreds of different sky and cloud shots.

I simply use photoshop and take the time to make sure that my selection is as good as it can get. I have tried a few downloaded actions that purport to help you out but I could do better on my own. I just kept practicing with the various selection methods until I got better at (and still have a ways to go).

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Sorta on topic, sorta not.

Plugin's naturally go into their own folder under the drop-down list. I know plugins have header information that places them automatically in a specific folder by the publisher, but is there a way to group those by my criteria? i.e. Commonly Used; Geometric Patterns; Borders; Seldom Used; etc.

I don't want to split up packages, but I've got lots of onesy-twosy's.

Thanks!

How about the best plug-in manager? Any suggestions? I have a ton of plug-ins and it's hard keeping track.

My favorites and most used? It depends on purpose and some of these are definitely not for purists who are only cleaning up photos for realism and superb printing.

That said my faves are:
* Grain Surgery for noise reduction, smooting, and adding grain
* Optik Verve's "Virtual Photographer" for mixing photo effects
* Filters Unlimited 2.0 with the free Photo Aging plugin
* Flaming Pear's "Mr. Contrast", "Melancholitron", and others
* Xenofex 2 suite
* Eye Candy suite has some nice filters mixed in with some useless ones

If I could only pic 3 it'd be Grain Surgery, Filters Unlimited, and the Flaming Pears.

:)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the products from Pixel Genius.

PK Sharpener
This is probably the best sharpening workflow tool available

Photo Kit Color
This applies precise color corrections, automatic color balancing and creative coloring effects.
