Noiseware professional best noise reduction plugin out there (imo) and very user friendly!! well worth its price can download a trial version just to get an idea of how well it works while in the program but will grid your image when you go to apply in trial version, definetly worth checking out

I agree that this should be made sticky. Great thread!

Portrature certainly looks interesting, but the sample they give really puts me off it - the skin is too smoothed for my liking, and even the eyebrows are all blurry. I smooth skin very little, and where it's needed will quickly do it by hand. With regards to smoothing / sharpening, I'm happy to use Noise Ninja to smooth, and use a soft edged brush to let sharpened areas e.g. lips, eyes, hair show through.

I was hoping we could start a list with the best/most important plugins that you can't live without (or at least highly reccomend). A sort of "to-get" list for people who are new to photoshop or to cs2.

Here's what we've got so far:
NeatImage Plugin
Kodak ROC pro
Genuine Fractals
Noise Ninja
Virtual Photographer
The Imaging Factory...B&W conversion
AV bros page curl
Fred Miranda's Plugins (especially the B&W)
Nik Color Efex 2.0
Panos FX
Retouche Pro
AutoFX

you can google any of these very easily.

great post. Thanks. Does anyone know of an excellent batch "image resize" tool? Any suggestion?

Thanks mucho

The Batch Processor - which is easiest accessed via Bridge - will do the job for you with Photoshop CS2 or CS3.

I'd recommend Dr. Brown's 1-2-3 Process, which is part of Dr. Brown's Services (external link). This script takes the Image Processor to a whole new level.

Imagenomic Noiseware
Power Retouche
Focus Magik
PS Actions work alot faster than plug-ins if you batch thousands of files.
