shot this two days ago with my new Rebel XT which I love. Its also my first attempt at any digital editing. (converted image to B&W). Let me know what you think.

It's interesting! I think it's hard to tell what the picture is and what the focus is because you're zoomed-in so close. But as a technique, I like the B&W conversion. :-)

Of the two versions, the color is far superior, because the highlights are blown out in the monochrome.

The soft colors (low saturation) make for a very nice, delicate image. Very natural looking - more like Ektachrome than Kodachrome, if you know what I mean.

I think that the contrast in the B&W is pretty flat. I don't like how it turned out personally.

Nice shot.

I personally prefer the colour one. It's an interesting subject and the colour is just bright enough to not needing to go BW but still quite faint, but that's a good thing. I was going to suggest a crop to highlight it, but actually I really like it just as it is.
